New Delhi, India (BBN) – There is a major development at Marks & Spencer, as Apurba Chakraborty, Head of Region – South Asia Offices and Ravi Seshadri, Head of Technology (South Asia), both working in Bangalore office, have submitted their resignation. While Ravi has already left the organization, Apurba will be leaving within a month.

Meanwhile, Nidhi Dua, earlier Country Manager of French Connection, has joined M&S, Gurgaon office as Country Manager which is a newly created post, but she has been entrusted with a similar responsibility as Apurba had. The Apparel Online reported quoting the company’s internal sources.

Though industry sources claim that the M&S Bangalore office will be scaled down or shifted to Delhi soon and will remain primarily a QA office, but company officials refuted the claim and said that Bangalore office will continue its normal operations. There is a staff of 50 people at the Bangalore office. However, it is also true that M&S is looking for a bigger office in Gurgaon as it will focus more of its sourcing activities now from this office.

It is being rumoured that the person at present serving M&S Bangladesh office will take the place or handle the job earlier assigned to Ravi at Bangalore office. Though the reasons for the development is not clear, but it is being rumoured that since both Apurba and Ravi did not want to work outside Bangalore, they decided to leave the office; once Delhi was proposed as a bigger office.

In the meanwhile, Reena Duggal will be joining French Connection’s India office (Chennai) from November 20th. Reena as of now is CEO Norwest Industries/NOR Delhi based in Gurgaon. Nidhi Dua, a GMT from NIFT ’93 batch, was in French Connection from the last four years and earlier worked with GAP for almost 13 years and in H&M for five years.
