Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The Nitol-Niloy Group has planned to export US$3.0 billion worth local apparel items to India within next three years through its newly established trading house ‘Nitol-Niloy Export House’.
The ‘Nitol-Niloy Export House’ will act as a purely readymade garment (RMG) trading house where design centre, laboratory and brand improvement activity for the local RMG producer will be held regularly to promote the RMG sector specially in India, the company said.
Commerce Minister GM Qader formally inaugurated the house at a ceremony followed by a fashion show at the Nitol Niloy Tower at Nikunjo in the capital Dhaka on Sunday.
Nitol-Niloy Group Chairman, Abdul Matlub Ahmed said that Bangladesh is known as a cheap RMG supplier in the world market but the country is left far behind in terms of its capabilities.
Some renowned RMG producers of the country have already been associated with the ‘Nitol-Niloy Export House’, the company added.
