Nor'westers kill six in northern Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Six people were killed and more than 100 wounded as nor’westers swept over different places of the country’s two northern Thakurgaon and Dinajpur districts Tuesday, officials said.
In Thakurgaon, five people were killed and at least 100 people wounded, hundreds of houses blown up and standing crops on a vast tract of land damaged and huge number of trees uprooted as a nor’wester lashed Pirgani upazila Tuesday evening.
Over 100 people were injured in the devastating storm, a local government official said, adding that 27 of them people were admitted to Dinajpur and Rangpur Medical College hospitals.
A person was killed and another 25 were injured, nearly 100 houses and crops damaged and a huge number of trees uprooted as a nor'wester swept over most places of Dinajpur district, they added.
