Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - National University of Bangladesh has postponed today’s degree examinations due to countrywide flood, says a press statement of the university.

The degree examination is of the year 2015, the statement adds.

Continuous rains over the last couple of days caused flash floods in eastern, southern and northern regions of Bangladesh along with onrush of water from the hills.

Thousands of hectares of land with crops were damaged and people were forced to take shelter on high ground as vast areas of Dinajpur, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Mymensingh, Kishorganj, Brahmanbaria, Sunamganj and Habiganj went under water.

At least 15 rivers, including the Jamuna, Teesta, and Surma, were flowing above the danger mark.
