Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The government, semi-government and private offices, including banks and financial institutions, reopened on Wednesday after a weeklong Eid vacation.
Attendance at the secretariat, the administrative hub of the country, was also very thin as more than half of the officers and employees did not return.
Festive mood is prevailing at most of the offices in the capital Dhaka.
The holiday-seekers, who went to their villages to celebrate the Eid with their relatives, have slowly started to return to their working places.
City streets still remain free from the usual chaotic snarl-up.
