Onion and ginger prices decline slightly

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The prices of local and imported onion with ginger have decreased slightly on Sunday in Dhaka due to smooth supply of the essentials in the market.

The prices of per kg local onion is at BDT 65-75 today while it was at BDT 70-80 in the previous working day, as well as the prices of imported onion is down at BDT 50-60 from at BDT 55-65 according to latest data provided by the state-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB).

On the other hand, the price of ginger is at BDT 80-150 at today’s market.

Yesterday, the price of per kg ginger was at BDT 100-160, the data added.

The prices of other essential items however remained almost unchanged at different kitchen markets in Dhaka on Sunday, the TCB data showed.
