Otobi’s Savar factory shut following fire

Savar, Bangladesh (BBN)-The Savar headquarters of Otobi, a renowned furniture factory in Bangladesh, was closed for indefinite period Wednesday morning hours after a devastating fire gutted furniture worth millions there.

The authorities of the Otobi declared the main factory closed as all the furniture and its raw materials were gutted to ashes when a fire that originated around 9:30pm Tuesday raged through the factory at Akran of Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka.

No immediate report of casualty was heard from the fire which was tamed around 3:00am Wednesday.

The loss would be no less than 1000 crore, an official of Otobi told a private television channel
