Oxfam, bKash sign deal to transfer cash

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- An agreement was signed between Oxfam and bKash in the capital on Sunday, aiming to transfer cash to 3371 households in Fulchhari upazila of Gaibandha district as part of Oxfam’s humanitarian response.
bKash is a joint venture between BRAC Bank Limited, Bangladesh, and Money in Motion LLC, USA,
M Badi Akhter, acting country director of Oxfam, and Kamal S Quadir, CEO of bkash Limited, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides, the organizers said.
Oxfam with the financial support from ECHO has initiated Food Security Response Initiatives and Efforts for flood in North Western Districts (FRIEND) Project to reach 3371 households at five unions in Fulchhari upazilla. 
Under this project, BDT 6,520 will be disbursed to each household through Cash for Work and Cash for Training.
