Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan in Bangladesh Afzaal Mahmood called on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor AAMS Arefin Siddique at the latter’s office on Wednesday.
During the meeting they discussed matters of mutual interest specially the exchange of students between the University of Dhaka and the universities in Pakistan.
Acting High Commissioner of Pakistan Afzaal Mahmood expressed his desire to take more students from Dhaka University to Pakistan under on-going exchange program.
Besides, Mr. Mahmood said diplomats of Pakistan High Commission in Dhaka are interested to learn Bangla language.
He requested Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Arefin Siddique to arrange a ‘Bangla Learning Course’ for the diplomats.
The VC assured the acting High Commissioner of taking pragmatic measure in this regard very soon.
Director of the Institute of Modern Language Muhammad Abdur Rahim was present on the occasion, a DU press statement said.
