Napier, New Zealand (BBN)-Pakistan defeated the United Arab Emirates by 129 runs in the 25th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup in Napier on Wednesday.
With the victory, Pakistan registered their second win in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 tournament.
Earlier all-round performance helped Pakistan to set a huge 340 target for the UAE.
The record 129-run triumph against UAE will improve the run-rate of Pakistan.
In the second innings, UAE scored 210 runs losing eight wickets in 50 overs in chase of Pakistan’s 340 target.
Earlier, Khurram Khan and Shaiman Anwar of the UAE tried their best to make their team stable.
If Pakistan could beat UAE by 150 runs, they could be ranked above West Indies in Pool B.
Rahat Ali and Haris Sohail guided Pakistan from the very beginning of the second innings to limit the UAE in low post.
In the first innings of the match, the combined effort of Pakistan guided the team to pile 339 total.
Misbah-ul-Haq’s personal 65 post, Ahmed Shehzad’s 93 and Haris Sohail’s 70 powered Pakistan to cross 300 in their Pool B match.
Pakistan mounted the total losing six wickets in 50 overs.
Prior to the beginning of the match, United Arab Emirates won the toss and elected to field first.
