Quetta, Pakistan (BBN)– The death toll from a powerful earthquake in southwestern Pakistan rose to 216 people on Wednesday after hundreds of houses collapsed in a remote area, a government spokesperson said.

Balochistan government spokesman Jan Mohammad Buledi Wednesday morning confirmed that 216 people have died in the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that flattened almost everything in the Awaran district of Balochistan, Geo News reported.
