Islamabad, Pakistan (BBN)– Hopes of Pakaistani nation dealt a extreme-level blow as right-handed opening batsman, a right-arm off-spin bowler and a former captain of Pakistan cricket team Mohammad Hafeez ruled out of the World Cup 2015 following a knee injury.
As per details, the former national team captain considered one of the country’s most promising prospects in recent years, sustained an injury just before the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) warm-up match, reports Dunynews.tv.
After examining the health condition of Mohammad Hafeez, team doctors advised him to take at least three-week rest whereas on the other hand, team management claimed that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was continuously being informed regarding his injury.
All-rounder Mohammad Hafeez faces a race against time to get his action cleared.
He was suspended in November last year and will participate in a reassessment test on February 6.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) formally asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to have a reassessment of Muhammad Hafeezs bowling action prior to the World Cup beginning.
Earlier, paceman Junaid Khan was sent to home after failing to pass a fitness test due to thigh injury.
The pacer was later replaced by Rahat Ali.
