Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday congratulated Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Atiur Rahman for being adjudged as the ‘Central Banker of the Year 2015’ from the Asia-Pacific region by The Financial Times-owned magazine The Banker.
The recognition for Dr Atiur came for stimulating growth and stabilising economy.
In a message, the Prime Minister praised his strong role in introducing agriculture friendly and green banking system, and restoring discipline in macro economy and overall banking management.
The Banker, owned by London-based The Financial Times, announced the awards on Monday. It also awarded governors from America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa regions for their contributions.
