Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– Police on Thursday submitted charge sheet against 45 leaders and activists of BNP-led 18-party alliance including BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir for torching a vehicle during April 29 shutdown.
Detective Branch (DB) of Police Inspector Nurul Amin, also the investigation officer (IO) of the case, submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Dhaka in the morning.
The charge sheeted accused include BNP leaders MK Anwar, Brig Gen (retd) Hannan Shah, Sadek Hossain Khoka, Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Mirza Abbas, Dr Khandoker Mosharraf Hossain, Amanullah Aman, Ruhul Kuddus Talukdar Dulu, Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, Fazlul Haque Milon, Sharif Uddin Chowdhury Anne, Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) President Sultan Salahuddin Tuku, Liberal Democratic Party President Col (retd) Oli Ahmed, Jamaat-e-Islami acting Ameer Mokbul Hossain, BJP President Andalib Rahman Partha and Swechchhasebak Dal President Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel.
Tejgaon police filed the case against the opposition leaders and activists for torching a bus near the Prime Minister’s Office during strike, generally known as hartal, on April 29.
Later, the case was shifted to the DB police.
