Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- A High-Level Policy Conference of Central Banks on ‘Balancing Inflation and Growth: Perspectives from the Global South’ began at Mumbai in India on Wednesday evening.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the central bank of India, is organizing the conference to celebrate as commemorating the 90th years of its establishment.
A three-member delegation, headed by Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, left Dhaka on Wednesday for India to attend the conference on November 20-22, officials said.
Other members of the delegation are Dr. Md. Habibur Rahman, deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank, and Dr. Md. Ezazul Islam, Executive Director (Grade-1) of the central bank.
The conference is expected to bring together governors of several central banks in the global south to share and discuss their experience and best practices during and after the pandemic.
It is scheduled to deliberate on issues of contemporary relevance including monetary policy dilemmas in managing the growth-inflation balancing amidst global challenges and spillovers, strengthening regulation and supervision of the financial system and leveraging and expanding digital payment systems.
Bangladesh delegation will return home on November 23.
