Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– The fifth Population and Housing Census is beginning across the country Tuesday midnight to ascertain the actual population, household and vocation of the people.
President Zillur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in separate messages on the eve of population census on Sunday called upon the nation to cooperate with the enumerators who will go to doors to doors from March 15 to 19.
They said the census is aimed at focusing on accurate enumeration of the household, families, people and their occupation.
The last census held in 2001 showed the country’s population at 130522,598 reflecting an increase by about 19.1 million in ten years.
