Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- President Zillur Rahman left the capital Dhaka for London on Sunday for a medical check-up.
A regular flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the president took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 9:30am.
The medical check up of the president will be started at Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London from Monday, officials said.
Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Home Affairs Minister Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir, Foreign Minister Dipu Moni, State Minister for Home Affairs Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku, cabinet secretaries, chiefs of the three services, dean of the diplomatic corps and high civil and military officials were present at the airport to see him off.
The president is expected to return home on December 24.
