President offers Eid prayers at National Eidgah

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – President of Bangladesh Zillur Rahman at 8:30 this morning offered his Eid-ul-Azha prayers at the country's main Eid congregation on National Eidgah Maidan in the capital Dhaka.

Chief Justice of Bangladesh Justice Md Mozzammel Hossain, ministers, advisers to the Prime Minister, state ministers, members of the parliament, judges of the Supreme Court, election commissioners, senior political leaders and diplomats of different Muslim countries also offered their prayers at the venue.

Imam of Gulshan Jame Mosque Shamsul Haque conducted the Eid prayers, attended by hundreds of people of all walks of life in a festive mood.

A special prayer seeking divine blessings for peace and development of the country, welfare of the people and greater unity of the Muslim Ummah was also held.

President Zillur Rahman exchanged Eid pleasantries with the devotees after the prayers.

Different law enforcement agencies beefed up security measures around the Eidgah Maidan.
