President offers Eid prayers at National Eidgah Maidan

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- President Zillur Rahman offered his Eid-ul-Fitr prayers on the National Eidgah Maidan in the capital, Dhaka at 9.00am (local time) on Monday.

Chief Justice MM Ruhul Amin, Speaker Abdul Hamid, Deputy Speaker Shawkat Ali, ministers and MPs of the republic, government high-ups, political leaders, diplomats of different Muslim countries and other prominent people also offered prayers on the Eidgah madian.

A special munajat was held seeking divine blessings for peace and development of the country, welfare of the people and greater unity of the Muslim Ummah.

President Zillur Rahman exchanged Eid pleasantries with the musallis after the prayers.

Hundreds of people from all walks of life also offered their Eid prayers at the National Eidgah despite heavy shower. Though the entire Eidghah was covered with tarpaulin, the devotees suffered difficulty on their way to the Eidghah because of the rain.
