Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker Shirin Sharmin Choudhury, Opposition Leader in Parliament Raushan Ershad BNP chief Khaleda Zia greeted the Tigers on their triumph over Scotland in Nelson.
Cricket loving Bangladesh Governor Dr Atiur Rahman also greeted the Tigers immediately after the Tigers clinched a thrilling six-wicket victory in Saxton Oval of New Zealand on Thursday.
This is Tigers second World Cup victory.
In a message of felicitation, the PM especially thanked the national team players, manager, coach and officials of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for this outstanding feat.
Hasina hoped that the Tigers would continue their winning trend and continue to uphold the red-green flag of Bangladesh in the World Cup Cricket overcoming all the barriers.
Hasina also wished continued success of Bangladesh cricket.
“I congratulate the Bangladesh team for their fabulous victory and hope that they will continue their winning trend in the upcoming two World Cup matches,” said Dr. Rahman.
The BB governor made the remark while he was addressing a programme titled “The 3E: Energy, Efficiency & Engagement” at a hotel in Gulshan of Dhaka.
In separate message of greetings, President Hamid, Raushan Ershad and Khaleda Zia also congratulated the Tigers.
Cricket fans across the world specially Bangladeshi supporters greeted the Tigers through different social media including Facebook and Twitter after their feat.  
Bangladesh beat Scotland by six wickets in Nelson of New Zealand with their highest World Cup score of 322 runs, creating a strong chance for them to qualify for the quarterfinals.
