Prime Minister returns home wrapping up Moscow tour

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returned home from Moscow Thursday morning concluding her three-day official visit to Russia.
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and members of her entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital Dhaka at 9:20am.
Deputy leader of the Jatiya Sangsad Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Home Minister MK Alamgir, Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Faruk Khan, Cultural Affairs Minister Abul Kalam Azad, Chief Whip Abdus Shahid and PM's Advisor H T Imam received the PM at the airport.
Senior Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office Mollah Wahiduzzaman, Cabinet Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, chiefs of three services and charge d'affaires of Russian Embassy in Dhaka were present, among others.
Hasina went to Moscow on Monday in her first bilateral visit to renew the relations between the two countries.
During her visit, Bangladesh and Russia signed three agreements and six memoranda of understandings (MoUs) in different areas including on construction of nuclear power plants in Bangladesh. Other sectors are agriculture, health, education, culture, law and justice, terrorism and military cooperation.
The PM led a bilateral meeting with Russia and had a tete-a-tete with President Vladimir Putin. Chairperson of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russia Valentina I Matvienko, Minister for Communication and Mass Media Nikolay Nikiforov and General Director of ROSATOM, nuclear energy corporation of Russia, Sergey Kirienko called on her and discussed matters of mutual interests.
The PM placed wreaths at the tomb of Russian WWII heroes and visited famous Kremlin Museum and Bolshoi Theatre. She also visited the facilities of Gazprom, one of the biggest world's oil and gas exploration companies.
Hasina delivered an address in the prestigious Moscow State University on "Contemporary Bangladesh-Perspectives for Collaboration with Russia". Rector of the University conferred a diploma on her for the visit and lecture.
