Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will address the nation on Friday evening.
The state-run Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar will broadcast her address live simultaneously at 7.30 pm, PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told media in Dhaka on Thursday.
Other private television channels and radio stations will also broadcast the address of the prime minister.
The prime minister is likely to inform the nation about the country’s current political situation, according to sources at the ruling Awami League.
They also said the next general election, the election-time government and the tenure of the current Parliament are likely to dominate the prime minister’s speech, among other issues.
The country is now passing through a stormy political situation as both the ruling and opposition parties are on collision course over the next general elections.
Both the ruling and opposition parties called rallies for October 25 in Dhaka city to stage their showdowns, heightening tension across the country.
