Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The protesters on Saturday from a Ganojagoran Rally at Rayer Bazar Baddhabhumi (mass killing ground) in the city vowed to continue their movement until all the leading war criminals, including Jamaat leader Abdul Quader Mollah, are hanged and politics of Jamaat-Shibir is banned.

They also urged people from all walks of life to resist Sunday’s hartal called by Islamic and like-minded parties.

Imran H Sarkar, convener of Blogger and Online Activist Network, administered the oath to people from a rally in the afternoon. They also reiterated that they would boycott all the organisations and media houses of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

“We’ve launched our movement demanding the death penalty of all the war criminals, not against any religion,” Imran said while addressing the rally.

He also demanded exemplary punishment of those who attacked Shaheed Minars and desecrated the national flag across the country during Friday’s violence.

The rally at Rayerbazar Baddhabhumi started around 3:45pm rendering national anthem.

It was organised demanding death penalty to all leading war criminals and protesting vandalism of Shaheed Minar in different places in the country and disrespecting the national flag.

Thousands of Shahbagh protesters and organizers brought out a flag procession at about 2:35pm and marched towards Rayer Bazar Baddhabhumi.
