Pubali Bank launches SMS-based banking in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Pubali Bank Limited has introduced SMS based banking services aiming to provide latest technology based banking services to their customers.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the leading private commercial bank Helal Ahmed Chowdhury inaugurated the service as chief guest at a ceremony in Bank's head office recently. Additional Managing Director M.A. Halim Chowdhury and Deputy Managing Director Safiul Alam Khan Chowdhury were present as special guests.

This SMS based banking service of Pubali Bank Limited is powered by SSL Wireless. Managing Director of Pubali Bank Ltd. Helal Ahmed Chowdhury and Managing Director of SSL Wireless Sayeeful Islam signed an agreement related this service.

Mohammad Ali, Chief Technical Officer & General Manager of Information Technology Division of Pubali Bank delivered the welcome speech.

"We’re committed to provide modern & technology based banking services to the customers. As a part for providing better services & client's increasing demand Pubali Bank introduced SMS based banking services, Helal Ahmed Chowdhury said in his speech.

The SMS service will cover debit and  credit transaction notification, online transaction, loan sanction and disbursement, letter of credit (L/C) opening and payment, card activation/ deactivation, monthly balance notification, FDR renewal message, ATM & POS transaction, internet banking access and many more, according to the CEO.  He also said: "This service is both for our customers and officials which will strengthen relationship with customer and mitigate risk of cash transactions.”
