Rabiul Hassan promoted as ED of Bangladesh Bank

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– SM Rabiul Hassan has been promoted as executive director (ED) of the Bangladesh Bank (BB) from general manager, officials said.

Mr. Hassan has also been transferred to the BB’s Barisal office, according to a circular, issued by the Human Resources Department of the central bank on Tuesday.

The incumbent executive director in Barisal office, Md Sohrawardy, has been transferred to the headquarters in the capital Dhaka, it added.

Before the promotion, Mr Hassan worked as GM of Department Off-Site Supervision of the central bank.

Mr. Hassan joined the central bank of Bangladesh in 1988. In his career in the BB, he had worked in the Governor’s Secretariat, Department of Banking Inspection, Department of Banking Regulation and Policy, Human Resources Department and the central bank’s Bogra and Sylhet offices.
