Rahimafrooz launches new auto battery in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- Country's pioneer battery manufacturer and exporter Rahimafrooz has launched its international brand Globatt in the local auto market aiming to serve native customers with a hassle-free battery of superior performance.

Rahimafrooz had earlier launched Globatt in 22 countries in Asia, Middle East and Africa, said Munawar M Moin, a group director of Rahimafrooz, at a press meet at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital Dhaka on Saturday.

Globatt, a premium automotive battery brand, gives a warranty of 36 months.

"We’ve exported 0.6 million batteries in the last two years with Globatt having 60 per cent share of the total units," Mr Moin added.

Bangladesh now has a battery market of 0.6 million units worth Tk 5.0 billion a year and Rahimafrooz has 75 per cent market share.

The company makes batteries including Globatt at its plants in Savar and Ishwardi Export Processing Zones with an annual production capacity of 4.0 million.
