Rajshahi, Bangladesh (BBN)- The state-run Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) has started switching to online banking to stay competitive and improve its serving quality.

The bank management directed the branch managers and zonal managers to introduce computerization system as early as possible.

The management believes the electronic banking will facilitate to improve services to the clients.

Managing Director of the RAKUB Mofazzal Hossain cited importance of the online banking before 20 branch-level computer in-charge officers.

They all took part in a training programme titled 'Infinity Banking Solution' held at the bank's Computer Training Laboratory in Rajshahi. The training will run for 5 days.

Mr. Hossain addressed the session as the chief guest while Deputy Managing Director Nazmul Bari and General Manager (Administration) Nishith Kumar Shaha spoke as special guests with Deputy Managing Director (ICT Division) Golam Mostofa in the chair.

RAKUB, headquartered in Rajshahi, has been running its  banking business in all the 16 northwest districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions targeting the farmers and their other sub-sectors.

All of its 374 branches will be computerized in phases by June this year and then the bank will soon be switched to the online banking.
