Rallies, processions banned in Bangladesh capital

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on holding any kind of meeting, procession and rally in its area for 13 hours from Monday morning to avert anarchy and confrontation.

The ban will continue from 11:00am to Monday midnight, a DMP announcement said.

DMP Commissioner Benazir Ahmed imposed the ban under section 28 and 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance, it added.
