Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The holy Ramadan begins on Thursday as the new moon was sighted in Bangladesh sky on Wednesday.
4:08am (local time) is the last minute of the 1st Sehri (the meal before Dawn), while 6:38pm for Iftar.
The National Moon Sighting Committee took the decision in a meeting held at the Islamic Foundation in the capital Dhaka on Wednesday evening after reviewing reports on moon sighting for the holy month of Ramadan.
State Minister for Religious Affairs and Chairman of the committee Mohammad Shahjahan Mia presided over the meeting.
