Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)– A five-day ‘REHAB Fair 2014’ will begin at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Dhaka on Thursday to promote the country’s real estate sector, organizers said.
 

“We want to bolster ties between buyers and sellers through the fair,” M Wahiduzzaman, general secretary of the REHAB, said while speaking at a conference at the Jatiya Press Club in the capital on Monday.  

He also said the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) could not arrange the fair on the stipulated date due to political instability.
 

The duration of the fair will be for five days from 20-24 March and it will remain open to visitors from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the opening day while 11 am to 9:00 pm on the remaining days.
 

State Minister for Power and Energy Nasrul Hamid will inaugurate the fair.  
 

Replying to a query, REHAB acting president and chairman of Fair Standing Committee Maj Gen (retd) M Abdur Rashid the country’s housing sector has been passing through a bad time since 2012 and the country’s political turmoil seriously affected the sector.
 

He said there are over unsold 22,500 flats of REHAB, which are worth more than BDT 210 billion.
