Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – A remittance fair organized by RMMRU, a research, training and advocacy organization associated with Dhaka University, was held on the Laldighi Moidan of the country’s port city, Chittagong on Saturday.

The fair was organized to promote safe, legal and easy ways of bank services for the migrants, customer-friendly bank services and to ensure safe and easy flow of remittance and to encourage the customers to invest in proper ways, according to a press statement.

A total of 13 banks took part in the fair. The importance of migration and remittance and its effective usage were exhibited through street theatre and other cultural activities at the fair.

Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, the country’s central bank, and Project Director of RPP Khandakar Mazharul Haque inaugurated the fair.

Among others, Partnership Manager of the RPP Richard K Moss and Advisor of the RPP Project and Executive Committee member of RMMRU Tasneem Siddiqui also spoke on the occasion, according to reports.
