Road accident kills nine in Bangladesh

Jhalakathi, Bangladesh (BBN)- At least nine people, including two women and a child, were killed and 35 others injured in a road accident in the country’s south-western Jhalakathi district on Tuesday.

A Barisal-bound bus Rupam of Dhansiri Transport company left Khulna and plunged into a ditch while the passenger bus was passing a under-construction bridge instead of the alternative way at Biswasbari in Razapur upazila of the district.

The injured passengers were rushed to Rajapur Upazila Health Complex and Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital. The bus plunged into the ditch at around 4:00 pm as its driver visibly lost control over the wheels, witnesses said.
