Sirajganj, Bangladesh (BBN)- Nine persons were killed and 20 others wounded in a road accident on Sirajganj-Enayetpur road in the country’s northern Sirajganj district on Thursday.
A bus on its way to Sirajganj from Enayetpur clashed head-on with the auto-rickshaw in Ambaria area under Belkuchi upazila (sub-district) about 4:00pm and skidded off the road, a police official said.
Eight died on the spot while another succumbed to injuries on way to Sirajganj General Hospital. All the six people on board the auto-rickshaw, including its driver, died.
Among the injured, 15 passengers were admitted to Sirajganj General Hospital and Belkuchi Upazila Health Complex. Of them, condition of five persons are stated to be critical, doctors said.
