Road accidents kill 10 in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- At least 10 people were killed and 40   wounded in two separate road accidents in the country’s Comilla and Feni districts early Sunday.

Seven people were killed and 30 others injured as a Dhaka-bound truck collided with Chittagong-bound Sikdar Paribahan bus from Gaibandha near Miabazar in Chauddagram upazila under Comilla district around 5:00am (local time).

The dead were two women, a minor girl, drivers of both vehicles and the helper of the truck, a local police official said. “They died on the spot.”

The injured people were taken to Comilla Medical College Hospital and Chauddagram Health Complex. Another injured person died at the health complex later, the police official added.

The traffic on the busy highway was disrupted for half an hour due to the incident.

On the other hand, three people were killed and at least 10 others injured after the driver lost control over the steering and hit a roadside tree in Kaska area of Feni Sadar Upazila around 5:45am (local time).
