Road accidents kill 13 in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- At least 13 people were killed and 80 injured in separate road accidents in Rangamati, Manikganj and Tangail districts of Bangladesh on Friday just a day ahead of the Holy Eid-ul-Azha festival.
In Rangamati, six people were killed and 30 injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch after breaking railing of a bridge at Resham bagan in Kaptai upazila, a police official said.
The accident took place around 4:15pm as the driver of the Lichu Bagang-bound bus lost control over the steering and fell off the bridge, he added.
Three people were killed and 20 injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Shibaloy upazila of Manikganj district early Friday.
A Narail-bound bus carrying staff of a leading business group fell into the ditch at Nabagram around 12:30am, a local police official said.
Four people were killed and 30 other injured in a road accident at Pathalia on Tangail-Jamalpur highway in Dhanbari upazila of the Tangail district in the evening.
Police said the accident took place when a Jamalpur-bound bus collided head-on with another bus at the point, leaving three killed on the spot and 31 injured.
