Road accidents kill 16 in Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - At least 16 people, including a banker, university student and a food inspector, were killed and another 85 injured in road mishaps in different parts of the country Thursday.
Four people were killed in Narsingdi, five in Comilla, two in Faridpur, one each in Lalmonirhat, Chittagong, Dhaka, Khagrachhari and Gazipur, according to reports. 
In Narsingdi, four people were killed and 20 others injured in a road accident near Morjal area of Raipura upazila on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway of the district Thursday morning. 
Five people were killed and four injured in three separate road accidents in Comilla. Highway police said a senior bank official was killed and two people were injured as a Laxmipur-bound private car from Dhaka crashed into a tree when its driver lost control over the steering at Banshpur on Comilla-Chandpur road in sadar Dakshin upazila (sub-district).
