Road accidents kill six in two districts of Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- At least six people were killed and 22 injured in separate road accidents in the country’s Narsingdi and Comilla districts on Thursday, police said.
In Narsingdi, a passenger bus collided head-on with a truck on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Morjal in Raipura upazila around 8:30am, killing three people on the spot and injuring 20 others.
A local police official said the Dhaka-bound bus plunged off a bridge breaking its railing after colliding the Bhairab-bound truck.
Being informed, police reached the spot, recovered the bodies and rushed the injured to Narsingdi District Hospital.
In Comilla, three people including a couple were killed and two injured as a covered van rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Burichang upazila of the district.
Highway police said a Chittagong-bound covered van from Brahmanbaria hit a three-wheelers coming from opposite direction at Saheber Bazar at about 7:00am, leaving its three passengers dead on the spot and two others injured.
The injured auto-rickshaw driver and a child were rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
