Road crash kills five in southeastern Bangladesh

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN): Five people were killed and four injured in a head-on collision between a lorry and a microbus in the country’s southeastern Habiganj district on Wednesday.

The accident occurred at around 7:30am (local time) when the Dhaka bound lorry from Sylhet collided with the microbus coming from opposite direction on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Sadarghat in Nabiganj upazila (sub-district), killing five microbus passengers on the spot and injuring five others, police said.

Later, one injured woman succumbed to her injuries on way to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.

The deceased included two children, aged between two and four, two men, aged between 25 and 30, and a woman aged about 30, according to reports.
