Road crashes kill nine in Bangladesh

Comilla, Bangladesh (BBN) - At least nine people were killed and 20 others wounded in two road accidents in the country’s southeaster Comilla district on Friday, police said.

Six people were killed and 20 others injured as a bus heading towards Comilla from Brahmanbaria hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw from behind and tumbled into a roadside ditch at Sinduria Para in Burichang upazila (sub-district) at about 11:00 am (local time).

Of the injured, five were admitted to Comilla Medical College Hospital while others to local hospital and clinics.

In another accident, three people, including a microbus driver, were killed at Haripur in Daudkandi upzila at about 9am on the same day.
