Rajshahi, Bangladesh (BBN)– A teacher of Rajshahi University (RU) was stabbed to death by some miscreants at Bihas residential area in the country’s northern city on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as AKM Shafiul Islam, 40, a professor of Sociology Department of the university.
Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) officials said some unknown assailants swooped on Shafiul on his way home around 3:30 pm and stabbed him indiscriminately with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured.
Hearing his screams, local people rescued him and took him to the RMCH.
He succumbed to his injures at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital, said Dr Golam Mostafa, in-charge of the ICU.
