Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The SAARC Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI) South Asia CIO Conference - Bangladesh Chapter will be held in Dhaka on September 19-20 in Dhaka in association with CTO Forum.
The SAARC CCI South Asia CIO Conference will be an exclusive event which is a run up to the Second Annual South Asia CIO Summit, 2011. More than 70 CIOs (Chief Information Officers) or Head of ITs from the SAARC countries will participate in the two day event, the organizers said.
The First South Asia CIO Summit held in Colombo was a resounding success with over 65 delegates from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal participating in it. The need to have region specific conferences was felt as South Asia is poised to witness phenomenal growth in IT in the coming years.
“As we all understand, Information Technology is not only a critical leveler, it can be used in a dynamic environment to leapfrog,” a statement said.
Therefore, it is time for the Technology Leaders to take strategic decisions to leverage its use in promoting business prospects and also advancing their cause to be a part of the Board Room. Sharing of best practices, expertise and knowledge is the ask of the day.
Continuing with our endeavor to bring together the sharpest technology minds in South Asia, the conference will focus on the opportunities and challenges for the CIOs/ IT Heads in Bangladesh in their way to play a key role in giving direction to the business goals and leaving a legacy of credibility. The event will also lay emphasis on mentorship by the experienced CIOs to lead this foray.
The conference would commence with a keynote address by an eminent speaker of global fame setting the tone of the conference. Someone, whose efforts to create economic and social development has been lauded worldwide.
The organizers hope that this platform would be beneficial to all the participants alike.
