Salim Osman re-elected as BKMEA president

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - AKM Salim Osman was re-elected on Monday as the president of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) for the second time.
The election took place at the headquarters of the trade body in Narayanganj, a BKMEA statement said.
Four vice presidents for 2012-14 were also chosen by the elected directors of the body on the occasion.
The vice presidents are Mohammad Hatem, AH Aslam Sunny, Mahiuddin Faruqui and Shameem Ahmed.
Earlier, in the biannual polls of BKMEA, the national platform for knitwear makers, Osman's panel -- Sammilito Knit Parishad -- won 22 of the 27 posts for directors while former BKMEA president Fazlul Hoque's panel -- Progressive Knit Alliance -- won five posts.
