Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) and Bangladesh Federation of Women Entrepreneurs (BFWE) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) recently for the Training and Development of Women Entrepreneurs.

SCB is continually developing products and services that respond to customers’ needs, which involves adapting products and services and tailoring them to be appropriate and accessible for Women Entrepreneurs.

During the MoU signing, Mr. Hassan O Rashid, General Manager SME Banking, highlighted the vision behind Women Entrepreneur Development, “Standard Chartered seek to increase our engagement with Women Entrepreneurs who are an integral part of economic progress. For their development of technical skills, Standard Chartered have launched an internet based Women in Business Resource Center which is available in nine languages including Bangla. It is a 12 module e-learning program which has been designed specifically for women entrepreneurs who are starting or building their own business”.

On behalf of BFWE the MOU was signed by Ms. Rokia Afzal Rahman, president of BFWE, who is also a pioneering Women Entrepreneur in Bangladesh. She has sincerely appreciated SCB’s initiative to develop and train Women Entrepreneurs, and she hope that this is just the beginning of many such initiatives and great things to come.

Executive committee members of BFWE and Senior Executives from SCB also attended the signing ceremony.
