Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Wednesday decided to allow the trustee of AIMS First Guaranteed Mutual Fund to disburse the pending dividends and entitlements for the years 2007-08 and 2008-09 among the unit-holders.
The decision was taken at a commission meeting with its Chairman Ziaul Haque Khondker in the chair, officials said.
Under the decision, AIMS First Guaranteed Mutual Fund now has no bar to giving out its pending dividends and entitlements.
SEC member Mansur Alam said the commission has taken the move in line with the observations and directions of the High Court’s (HC’s) verdict.
“We’ll suggest the fund managers of AIMS to take proper initiatives regarding their pending dividends,” he said, adding that the decision has been taken considering the interest of market and investors.
The trustee of the AIMS announced 70 percent stock dividend for 2007-08 and 2008-09 and a 130 percent rights entitlement on February 24, 2010.
