SEC approves appointment of DSE new CEO

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)- The Securities regulator gave final approval Dr Mosharraf M Hossain as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) on Tuesday.
 
The decision was taken at the commission’s regular meeting chaired by Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chairman Professor M Khairul Hossain.
 
The Commission approved Dr Mosharraf Hossain as CEO of the DSE, an official press statement said.

Earlier, on 13 December, the DSE board decided to appoint Dr Mosharraf Hossain as CEO of the premier bourse at its board meeting and sent the proposal to the SEC for final approval.
 
Mr. Mosharraf, completing his graduation from the Dhaka University in 1972, obtained MBA from Sent Johns University in New York. He is also a member of Institute of Certified Public Accountant (ICPA) in the USA.
 
He also obtained his PhD from California South University in Accounting on Finance and Banking.
 
Mr. Mosharraf also served Bangladesh Air Force for ten years as an ADC of president of Bangladesh and as a senior country manager of Price Waterhouse.
