SEC forms two-member body to probe PHP trading

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has formed a two-member enquiry committee to investigate into ‘certain unusual trading’ of listed securities by PHP Stock and Securities Limited, officials said.
“SEC has formed an enquiry committee to investigate into certain unusual trading in shares of listed securities on May 24, 2012 by PHP Stocks & Securities Limited,” said a Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) web post on Sunday.
The membership number of the PHP Stock and Securities Limited is 235 at the DSE.
The two member enquiry committee, comprising SEC deputy director Md Yusuf Bhuiyan and assistant director Mohammad Zahirul  Haque, they added. 
The committee will submit its investigation report to the SEC within seven working days.
The SEC decided to investigate Thursday’s (May 24) trading of PHP Stock and Securities Limited for the sake of the investors, as the regulator has found information on unusual trading of shares by the house, said another SEC official.
