Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) - Security measures will be beefed up from Saturday evening in the capital Dhaka and elsewhere in the country to ensure peaceful celebration of the thirty-first night, officials said.

Diplomatic enclaves, public university campuses and posh areas of the capital city will be brought under a security blanket with the deployment of a large number of law-enforcers including Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police.

To make the security foolproof a good numbers of closed circuit television cameras (CCTVs) and check-posts will be set up at different strategic points in the capital.

Plain cloth police and RAB men will also guard the important points all over the country to avoid any untoward incident marking the thirty-first night.

Alongside the law-enforcers, eight mobile courts of police and four mobile courts of RAB will conduct drives at different parts of the capital city, especially Gulshan-Baridhara diplomatic enclave and Dhaka University and its adjoining areas.

Roadside bars will be remained closed from 6:00 pm of Saturday. Law-enforcers will also use alcohol detectors as a security tool.

Residents of different dormitories of Dhaka University have been urged to enter their campus by 8:00 pm of Saturday. No outsiders will be allowed to enter the area.
