Seven people killed in devastating fire in Dhaka

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – At least seven people were burned alive in a devastating fire at a shoe factory in the capital’s Jatrabari area on Wednesday, police said.

The fire originated from a shoe factory at Dholaipar in the capital Dhaka at about 4:55 pm (local time), fire brigade officials said.

Eight fire fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the flame after one and a half hours of frantic efforts.

Seven bodies were recovered by the fire fighters, a senior police official reportedly said, adding that identity of the victims was not known immediately.
