Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN) – The holy Shab-e-Barat will be observed in Bangladesh on the night of August 16 as the moon of the Arabic month of Saban was sighted on Saturday.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held at Islamic Foundation in the capital, Dhaka on Saturday evening, local media reported quoting a press statement.
M Ataur Rahman, Secretary of the Religion Affairs Ministry of Bangladesh, presided over the meeting, the statement added.
