Shakib appeals for curtailing punishment

Last updated: July 20, 2014

Dhaka, Bangladesh (BBN)-Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan Sunday appealed to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for curtailing the duration of the ban imposed on him for violating rules.

Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, acting chief executive officer of the BCB, confirmed the matter, media reports said.

Shakib made the move 13 days after the BCB slapped a six-month ban on the all-rounder from taking part in any cricket in national level and also barred him from taking part in any foreign competitions until December 31, 2015.

On June 7, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) imposed the ban on Shakib on charges of breaching rules.
